Topic: Artist and Artisan
Template Title: Masters of Creation: Artist and Artisan

Materials:

• 1 whole sheet of bond paper

• Pen (black or blue ink)

• Ruler

• Any coloring materials (optional)

Instructions / Activity Guide:

This activity helps you understand the difference and similarities between an Artist and an Artisan. You will define each and identify how they are connected.

Step 1: Prepare Your Paper

Using a ruler, divide the paper into three sections:

• Left side: Artist

• Right side: Artisan

• Center (middle box): Similarities

You may draw it like two large columns with a box in the center overlapping or placed between them.

Step 2: Define Each Term

Left Side – ARTIST

Write a clear definition (2–3 sentences):

Artist – A person who creates art to express ideas, emotions, imagination, or messages. An artist focuses on creativity and originality, often producing paintings, music, literature, dance, film, and other expressive works. Add examples in a bullet form.

Right Side – ARTISAN

Write a clear definition (2–3 sentences):

Artisan – A skilled craftsperson who creates functional or decorative objects using specialized techniques. An artisan focuses on craftsmanship, precision, and mastery of materials such as wood, metal, fabric, clay, or glass. Add examples in a bullet form.

Step 3: Add the Center Box – Similarities

In the center box, write the similarities between an Artist and an Artisan:

• Both require skill and creativity.

• Both produce creative works or objects.

• Both use tools, materials, and techniques.

• Both contribute to culture and society.

• Both require training, practice, and dedication.

Write 3–5 short but clear points.

Step 4: Organize and Design

• Make sure your lines are straight and sections are balanced.

• Highlight the headings: Artist, Artisan, Similarities.

• Keep your definitions concise and clear.

• You may decorate the border creatively if desired.

• Add examples as well.

• Artisan focuses more on skilled craftsmanship and function.
