Trademark: Must be based on your group's desired name/ brand.
I. OVERVIEW
This performance task requires each group to produce a recorded radio-style drama that demonstrates understanding of the Processes in Production:
Pre-Production
Production
Post-Production
The output must follow professional production standards while showcasing creativity, teamwork, and proper use of auditory art elements (voice, sound effects, silence, pacing, rhythm, tone, etc.).
II. GROUP COMPOSITION (5–8 Members)
Each group must consist of 5–8 members. Assign the following roles (members may hold two roles if necessary, except Director):
Core Production Roles
Director – Oversees the entire production; ensures artistic coherence and time management.
Scriptwriter – Writes and finalizes the script; ensures dialogue clarity and proper flow.
Production Manager – Handles scheduling, coordination, and documentation.
Sound Effects Designer (Foley Artist) – Creates and integrates sound effects.
Voice Actors/Actresses – Perform assigned characters.
Audio Editor – Edits, trims, balances, and enhances the final audio.
Spinner / Narrator – Introduces scenes, transitions, and provides storytelling continuity.
Quality Control Officer – Checks audio clarity, rating compliance, and rubric alignment.
(All members must have at least 1 minute of speaking airtime.)
III. STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
A. PRE-PRODUCTION (Planning Stage)
1. Research and Understanding
Each group must research and discuss:
What is Content Development
What happens in Pre-Production
What happens in Production
What happens in Post-Production
The group must show evidence of understanding these processes through how they execute their project.
2. Decide the Genre
Choose ONE primary genre:
Comedy
Tragedy
Tragic-Comedy
Drama
Historical
Romance
Mystery
Thriller
Suspense
Fantasy
Psychological
Social Realism
Satire
Horror (must follow rating guidelines)
3. Develop the Concept
Identify the theme and central message
Define characters
Decide setting (can be realistic or imaginative)
Identify conflict (internal or external)
4. Scriptwriting
The script must include:
Title
Cast List
Character Descriptions
Scene Breakdown
Dialogue Format
Sound Effect Cues (SFX:)
Background Music Cues (BGM:)
Silence/Pause cues
Introduction with Rating Notice (MTRCB-style)
5. Content Rating Requirement (MTRCB-Style Notice)
Before the drama begins, include a recorded rating notice similar to MTRCB:
Examples:
G (General Patronage) – Clean and suitable for all audiences.
PG (Parental Guidance) – Some themes may require guidance.
SPG (Strong Parental Guidance) – Mature themes.
R-13 / R-16 / R-18 – Restricted content (must be academically justified).
Note: Explicit content must be academically justified and not offensive.
Profanity, discrimination, or inappropriate themes may result in grade deductions if without permission.
Make sure your content or the story of your drama has a lesson.
B. PRODUCTION (Recording Stage)
Recording Guidelines:
Each member must speak for at least 1 minute
Total audio length:
Minimum: 4 minutes
Maximum: 10 minutes
Clear voice projection
Minimal background noise
Proper pronunciation and articulation
Use expressive voice techniques:
Tone
Pitch
Volume
Emotion
Timing
Silence
Elements of Auditory Art (Must Be Evident)
Dialogue delivery
Sound effects (manual or digital)
Background music (copyright-safe)
Pacing and rhythm
Strategic silence
Spatial illusion (near/far voice effects)
C. POST-PRODUCTION (Editing & Presentation)
Editing
Use any software that allows voice recording and editing, such as:
Audacity
BandLab
CapCut (Audio Mode)
Adobe Audition
GarageBand
Editing must include:
Trimming mistakes
Balancing audio levels
Removing noise
Smooth transitions
Clear introduction and ending credits
Classroom Presentation
The final audio will be played in class.
Ensure volume is audible.
Observe professionalism during playback.
Introduce your group briefly before playing the audio.
