Instructions / Activity Guide:
This activity helps you understand the elements of art in both visual and auditory forms. You will define each element using simple and clear statements.
Step 1: Prepare Your Paper
Use one whole sheet of bond paper. At the top center, write the title ELEMENTS OF ARTS (VISUAL AND AUDITORY). Using a ruler, divide the paper into two equal parts.
Left side: Visual Arts
Right side: Auditory Arts
Step 2: Fill in the Visual Arts Section
Write 1–2 sentences only for each. Add simple drawings or symbols.
Line – A path created by a moving point used to define shapes and forms.
Horizontal and Vertical Lines – Show stability and structure.
Diagonal and Crooked Lines – Show movement and tension.
Curved Lines – Show softness and flow.
Shape – A flat enclosed area created by lines.
Geometric – Regular shapes like squares, circles, and triangles.
Form – A three-dimensional version of shape.
Organic – Irregular natural forms like plants or animals.
Space – The area around, between, or within objects.
Positive and Negative Space – Subject and background.
3-Dimensional Space – Creates depth and distance.
Color – Produced by light.
Hue – The name of the color.
Primary Colors – Red, Blue, Yellow.
Secondary Colors – Green, Orange, Violet.
Tertiary Colors – Combination of colors.
Value – Lightness or darkness of a color.
Light Colors – Bright or pale.
Dark Colors – Deep or shaded.
Texture – The surface quality of an object.
Texture in 2D Plane – Implied texture in drawings.
Surface Texture – Actual texture that can be felt.
Planes and Perspectives – Show depth in artwork.
One-Point Perspective – One vanishing point.
Two-Point Perspective – Two vanishing points.
Three-Point Perspective – Three vanishing points.
Step 3: Fill in the Auditory Arts Section
Write 1–2 sentences only for each.
Rhythm – The pattern of beats or timing in music.
Largo – Very slow.
Andante – Walking pace.
Moderato – Moderate speed.
Allegro – Fast.
Vivace – Very lively.
Accelerando – Getting faster.
Rallentando – Slowing down.
Allargando – Broad and slow.
Rubato – Flexible timing.
Dynamics – The loudness or softness of sound.
Pianissimo – Very soft.
Piano – Soft.
Mezzo-piano – Moderately soft.
Forte – Loud.
Fortissimo – Very loud.
Crescendo – Getting louder.
Decrescendo / Diminuendo – Getting softer.
Melody – A sequence of musical notes.
Harmony – Combination of notes played together.
Timbre – The unique quality of sound.
Texture – The layering of sounds.
Monophonic – Single melody.
Polyphonic – Multiple melodies.
Homophonic – Melody with accompaniment.
Step 4: Organize and Design
Keep your layout clean and balanced. Add drawings only on the Visual Arts side. Write neatly and keep explanations simple.
