Instructions / Activity Guide:
This activity helps you understand how creativity, imagination, and expression work together in the creation of art. You will organize ideas and examples to show how artists express thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Step 1: Prepare Your Paper
Divide the paper into three sections using lines or boxes based on your preference. Label each section: Creativity, Imagination, and Expression.
Step 2: Explain Each Concept
In each section, write 3–5 complete sentences explaining the concept. Below the explanation, give one simple example based on your day-to-day experiences. You may write in paragraph or bullet form. Write clearly and use your own words.
Guide Questions:
Creativity
How do artists create something new or unique?
What makes an artwork creative?
Can we call a person creative when he/ she is destroying a literature in return to his/ her creation?
Imagination
How do artists use ideas beyond reality?
Does imagination require dreams or realities?
How does imagination help in art-making?
Expression
What feelings or ideas can art express?
How do artworks communicate emotions?
Can expression help people connect each other?
Step 3: Add Visual Elements
You may add simple symbols, icons, or small sketches to represent each concept. Artistic skill is not required; focus on clarity of ideas. You may also want to use mnemonics to encapsulate the general ideas.

Creativity:
Creativity is the ability to create new ideas or forms. Artists combine materials and ideas in unique ways…
Example: A recycled-material sculpture depicting the current issue of the Philippines.

Imagination:
Imagination allows artists to go beyond what is real. It helps create fantasy or symbolic images.
Example: A painting of a dream world.
A painting of an ideal partner in life.
A painting of mythical creatures.
A song dedicated to the delulu’s.
A daydreamer, a Lasallian student who is thinking of dancing at the center of the quadrangle during assembly.
Expression:
Expression shows emotions and thoughts through art. Art can communicate feelings without words.
Example: A sad song expressing heartbreak.
An abstract art expressing his tragic ordeal in life.
“Muntik na’ng naging kwento.” Photography depicting people who are reckless.
Reminder:
Focus more on understanding the concepts. Neatness and clarity are more important than artistic skill.
You may go beyond the required contents.
